He warned of the serious consequences of Iran’s continued violations of national sovereignty and undermined regional security and stability.
Saudi Arabia called on the international community to take a firm stand and take decisive action against Iran’s violations.
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jassem al-Budawi also condemned the attack on Oman.
“These attacks are a gross violation of the sovereignty of the Sultanate of Oman and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security of maritime navigation and global energy supplies, as well as undermines regional security and stability,” he said.
“The dangerous military operations launched by Iran against Council members reflect Iran’s intentions towards the GCC and the entire region,” Al-Budawi said.
It added that the GCC countries had previously communicated to the Iranian regime through various meetings and occasions their commitment not to allow the use of their territory or airspace for any military operations against Iran.
He stressed that Iran’s targeting of civilian facilities is a serious violation of international law, the United Nations Charter and the principle of good neighborliness.
Mr. Al-Budawi emphasized that the GCC stands in full solidarity with Oman in all measures to protect its sovereignty and safeguard its security and stability, reiterating the Council’s rejection of all forms of aggression targeting the security of Member States.
