This reflects Saudi Arabia’s advanced status as a key player in global data and artificial intelligence processes and strengthens its leading role in shaping the future of these advanced technologies at the international level.
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) represents this partnership as an extension of the continued and continued support the Kingdom receives from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the SDAIA Board of Directors, to play a role in solidifying the Kingdom’s position as a global benchmark in the governance, regulation, and development of artificial intelligence technologies.
The Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence is one of the initiatives born out of the G7 summit and aims to strengthen international cooperation to support the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence and bridge the gap between theoretical aspects and practical applications.
The partnership brings together 46 countries, represented by leading experts from civil society, government, industry, and academia, to bridge the gap between theoretical and applied aspects in the field of artificial intelligence, in addition to supporting research and development activities related to artificial intelligence priorities. In addition to supporting the country’s efforts to localize advanced technologies and increase the contribution of the digital economy to gross domestic product, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals, this accession is expected to increase the global technology community’s confidence in the Saudi regulatory environment and contribute to attracting quality investments, leading technology companies, and entrepreneurs.
Saudi Arabia’s membership in GPAI increases Saudi Arabia’s presence in global technology decision-making, providing opportunities to actively participate in influential international dialogues and contribute to the development of standards and policies regulating modern technologies, in addition to exchanging experiences with member countries and experts from governments, industry and academia.
