– The Transport General Authority is intensifying inspections on foreign trucks, enforcing strict penalties for regulatory violations to enhance the transportation sector’s efficiency and competitiveness.

Riyadh, March 22, 2025, The Transport General Authority (TGA) has ramped up its inspection efforts on foreign trucks operating in Saudi Arabia to enforce land transport laws.

Inspection teams recently seized 25 foreign trucks for illegal goods transportation within cities, issuing a SAR10,000 fine and immediate truck impoundment for each violation.

In Riyadh, 86 inspections resulted in 24 violations and impoundments, while Jeddah saw one violation and impoundment out of eight inspections.

TGA has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards regulatory violations, with fines and impoundments escalating for repeat offenders.

The campaign is part of TGA’s broader effort to enhance transportation oversight, ensure fair competition among carriers, and support national carriers, in line with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to improve sector efficiency and competitiveness.
