STC Group records record increase in Two Holy Mosques during Ramadan. Data increase of 21% in Makkah Mosque and 40% in Medina Mosque – Saudi News

The stc group revealed that in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan, the usage of digital and communication services at the Two Holy Mosques achieved a record increase, coinciding with an increase in the number of Umrah pilgrims and visitors and high demand for communication and internet services in Makkah and Medina.

According to the network’s operational indicators, the Holy Mosque of Makkah has seen an increase of more than 21% in internet data traffic, and more than 48% of internet traffic is transmitted via fifth generation technology, an increase of 18% compared to last year. The network also recorded a more than 40% increase in internet data traffic at Civil Mosque, with more than 48% of the traffic passing through fifth generation technology, an increase of 67% compared to last year.

In terms of voice traffic, the network recorded an increase of 5% in the Holy Mosque of Makkah and 14% in the Medina Mosque compared to last year. This is an indicator that reflects the high operational efficiency of the network and its ability to accommodate a significant increase in visitors and pilgrims, while maintaining the quality of service and achieving standard performance indicators.

In addition to preparing for the Umrah period, stc Group expanded its network capabilities by developing and modernizing more than 600 communication towers in Makkah and 470 communication towers in Medina to meet increased demand and accommodate the significant increase in the number of visitors and pilgrims during the peak season of the holy month of Ramadan.

stc Group continues to strengthen the readiness of digital infrastructure in Makkah and Medina, preparing key locations and developing networks to serve the millions of Umrah pilgrims, worshipers and visitors, ensuring an integrated digital experience for the divine guests of the Holy Mosque of Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque.

This year, the network also witnessed an increase in the number of international roaming customers visiting the Kingdom to perform Umrah or visit, recording an increase of over 10% compared to the previous year. This reflects the growing demand for digital and communication services at the Two Holy Mosques and confirms the ability of the STC network to keep up with millions of pilgrims and provide reliable, high-quality communication services.
