Saudi Venture Capital (SVC) has invested in SEEDRA Ventures Fund II, a venture capital fund managed by SEEDRA Ventures, to support early-stage, high-growth technology startups in Saudi Arabia. Launched by SEEDRA Ventures, which was founded in 2019, the fund focuses on companies in early stages of growth and targets startups across sectors including artificial intelligence (AI), fintech, proptech, SaaS, logistics, and other technology-enabled industries. Through this investment, SVC aims to expand Saudi founders’ access to institutional capital, in line with its strategy of supporting startups from pre-seed stage to pre-IPO.

press release:

Saudi Venture Capital (SVC) has announced an investment in SEEDRA Ventures Fund II, a venture capital fund managed by SEEDRA Ventures, an entity licensed by the Saudi Capital Market Authority.

The fund is sector agnostic but targets technology and technology-enabled startups such as artificial intelligence (AI), fintech and proptech. The fund primarily targets early-stage, high-growth startups.

“Early stage venture capital investing is where Saudi founders meet their first institutional investors, and the depth of the field shapes what follows,” said Nora Alsarhan, CEO of SVC. “Our investment in II will support executives focused squarely on supporting Saudi technology founders at their critical stage, expanding the specialized capital available to them and strengthening the private sector engine of Vision 2030.”

“Saudi Arabia produces some of the most ambitious founders and attractive venture opportunities in the region. SVC’s investment, along with the strong demand that led to Fund II being oversubscribed, strengthens our belief in the market and our ability to identify great entrepreneurs at an early stage. Through Fund II, we will support the founders as they scale their businesses by providing capital, expertise and strategic access to our network, while maintaining a disciplined approach that delivers attractive long-term returns for the company.” ” said Haitham Alforai, Managing Partner of SEEDRA Ventures.

SVC is an investment company founded in 2018. It is a subsidiary of the Bank for Small and Medium Enterprises, which is part of the National Development Fund. SVC aims to stimulate and sustain funding for startups and SMEs from pre-seed to pre-IPO through investments in funds and direct investments in startups and SMEs.
