Egyptian-born, Saudi-headquartered social e-commerce platform Taager has launched operations in Casablanca, marking its official entry into Morocco and its first foray into North Africa. Founded in 2019 by Abdelrahman Sherif, Ahmed Ismail, Ismail Omar, and Mohamed Elholisy, Taager’s platform enables anyone to start and grow their own social e-commerce business by providing product, storage, delivery, and customer collection. Earlier this year, Taager closed a $6.75 million pre-Series B funding round led by Africa-focused technology growth fund Norrsken22.

press release:

Egyptian social e-commerce platform Taager has officially expanded into Morocco, starting operations in Casablanca, as part of its broader regional growth across MENA. The move marks Targer’s first entry into North Africa after establishing a presence in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The expansion targets Morocco’s rapidly developing e-commerce sector, with Targer aiming to make online sales more accessible to digital-first young entrepreneurs.

Founded in 2019, Taager provides an end-to-end platform that allows individuals to start selling online without carrying inventory or paying upfront costs. The company manages sourcing, logistics, shipping and payments, giving sellers a simple and reliable route to e-commerce.

“Morocco brings together a connected youth and a strong digital ecosystem,” said Abdelrahman Sherif, co-founder of Taager. “Our goal is to lower the barriers that prevent young people from starting an online business.”

Taager’s Morocco operations will be led by Salma Ammor, who has experience scaling digital ventures. She aims to focus on providing Moroccan youth with the tools they need to accelerate their businesses.

Taager’s entry into Morocco reflects the region’s growing demand for low-barrier e-commerce tools. Morocco, with its young population and high digital adoption, is a potential growth market for the company’s MENA expansion strategy.
