Doha: The TASMU Accelerator, an initiative of the TASMU Smart Qatar program under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), announced the selection of five proof-of-concept projects proposed by four startups in the third group of the accelerator to be co-developed with Mowasalat (Kalwa), and the announcement was made officially during Web Summit Qatar 2026.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Eman Al Kuwari, Director of the Digital Innovation Department at MCIT, and Dr. Hamed Al Shaibani, Executive Director of the Information and Communication Technology Department at Mowasalat (Kalwa).

The next phase will test the practical viability of the solution, measure its impact on operational efficiency, and further drive digital transformation across Moisalat’s core operations.

In this regard, Mr. Al-Kuwari said: “These proof-of-concept projects exemplify the TASMU Accelerator’s core role of partnering directly with sector actors to enable startups to test technology solutions within real-world operational environments. This collaboration with Moisalat reflects the Department’s commitment to linking digital innovation with operational needs and transforming innovative solutions into practical, scalable applications.”

Dr. Al Shaibani commented, “Through our partnership with TASMU, Mowasalat is enabling innovation in smart mobility and sustainable transportation by supporting international startups with real-world operational expertise and a living transportation ecosystem.”
