The “Border Guards of the Mecca Region” team won against the “Environmental Security Special Forces” team in the penalty shootout (3-1) in the quarterfinals held yesterday (Wednesday) at the Olympic Village Stadium, after both teams drew 0-0 in the first round, becoming one of the finalists of the fourth round of the “Jeddah 2026” football championship.

‘The Guard’ (runners-up in last year’s 2025 tournament) were able to maintain their points from the previous round and progressed smoothly to Round 4. Meanwhile, the ‘Environmental Security’ team left proud after showing an outstanding level in the previous matches.

It is worth noting that, on the second day of the showdown between government agencies and amateur teams participating in the tournament, “Guards” will play in Round 4 tomorrow, February 27th (Friday) at the Reserve Stadium of King Abdullah Sports City, against the winners of the “Jeddah Derby”, which will bring together the “Al Rasouk” and “Al Tawun” teams.

The “Mecca Region Border Guard Team” won against the “Environmental Safety Special Forces” team in the penalty shootout with a score of (3-1) after the match ended in a scoreless draw in the original time of the match held as part of the quarter-finals at the Olympic Village Stadium yesterday (Wednesday), joining the ranks of the qualifiers for the semi-finals of the “Jeddah 2026” football championship.

“Guard” (last year’s 2025 Championship runner-up) succeeded in maintaining the performance of the previous match and advanced to the semi-finals with achievements. Meanwhile, the “Environmental Security” team left with their heads held high after an impressive performance in the matches so far.

It is worth noting that the “Guard” will face the winner of the “Jeddah Derby” between the “Al-Rask” and “Al-Tawun” teams in the semi-finals tomorrow, February 27th (Friday) at the alternate stadium of King Abdullah Sports City, on the second day of matches between amateur teams participating in the championship and government institutions.
