United Arab Emirates – Global professional services firm Turner & Townsend has been appointed by RAK Central to provide project management services for a 3.1 million sq ft large mixed-use development located in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), United Arab Emirates.

RAK Central will be a dynamic work-live-play destination and will consist of commercial offices, including master developer Marjan’s new headquarters, retail and entertainment venues, food and beverage facilities, three business hotels with over 1,000 keys, 4,000 residential apartments, and public realm areas across five interconnected buildings. The mixed-use facility is scheduled to open in 2027.

This landmark project is in line with RAK’s Vision 2030, which aims to attract more than 3 million tourists per year and become a regional leader in sustainable tourism. The development aims to achieve LEED Gold certification through both design and construction, using sustainability principles such as a local supply chain, advanced green building strategies, energy-efficient systems, smart water management, and eco-friendly landscaping.

The development will also leverage advanced technology and digital solutions, including artificial intelligence (AI). BIM modeling and BIM construction techniques are used throughout the design and construction process to ensure a cutting-edge development that sets new standards within the UAE.

Michael McDade, project director at Turner & Townsend in the UAE, said: “We will provide project management services for the construction delivery of RAK Central, covering five towers with podiums and underground parking, extending our existing portfolio in RAK to reflect our commitment to the Northern Emirates.”

“Once completed, RAK Central will become the destination of choice for the growth of world-renowned businesses and the local community. We look forward to playing our part in realizing this vision.”
