Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates Pharmaceutical Facilities, affirmed that the UAE’s pharmaceutical sector operates with a high degree of stability and preparedness, stressing that the country’s strategic stocks of medicines and medical supplies are safe and sufficient to meet the needs of the local market.

Al Hajeri said the UAE has adopted the highest standards of policies and strategies to maintain a strategic stockpile to ensure that its citizens, residents and visitors have access to all the essential medicines they need in adequate quantities and for long periods of time.

He noted that strengthening medicine security is firmly established as a national priority, underpinned by a comprehensive strategic vision aimed at ensuring the sustainable availability, quality and safety of medicines under all circumstances.

Al Hajeri added that the facility follows a proactive approach based on risk assessment and emergency planning, strengthening preparedness and increasing public confidence in the country’s medicines system.

Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Director-General of the Emirates Medicines Authority, stressed that the sector maintains a high level of stability and responsiveness, ensuring the continued provision of medicines and medical supplies that are sustainably available over the long term, in line with the highest quality and safety standards.

Dr. Al Kaabi said that through an integrated system with strategic partners, the facility conducts daily on-site monitoring and supervises the movement of medicines and stock levels in factories, warehouses and storage facilities.

This will ensure uninterrupted access to essential medicines and prevent shortages of key products, he added, noting that the UAE’s domestic pharmaceutical supply chain is operating normally.

Dr. Al Kaabi said that the current availability indicators of medical products are stable and reassuring, thanks to effective future planning and strong partnerships with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, relevant authorities and the private sector.

He noted that drug safety constitutes one of the fundamental pillars of healthcare in the UAE, adding that the facility has adopted forward-looking strategies to ensure sustainable drug supply and the health sector’s preparedness to deal with any scenario.
