Umrah performers to exceed 11.2 million in Q4 2025

RIYADH — More than 11.2 million Muslims performed Umrah in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to statistics released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

According to GASTAT’s Umrah statistics for the fourth quarter of 2025, of the 11,291,326 pilgrims, 5,701,525 arrived from outside Saudi Arabia and 5,589,801 performed Umrah from within Saudi Arabia.

Of the total, 6.4 million (56.8 percent) were men and 4.9 million (43.2 percent) were women. Among domestic pilgrims, 53.2% were non-Saudis and 46.8% were Saudi nationals. Only 2.9% performed Umrah more than once during the quarter.

By region, 2,002,701 pilgrims came from Mecca and 1,146,451 came from Riyadh.

Women outnumbered men among overseas pilgrims, accounting for 53% of overseas pilgrims.

In terms of monthly activity, December recorded the highest number of overseas pilgrims, with 2,142,252 people performing Umrah, while November had the highest number of domestic pilgrims, with 2,059,838.

A total of 4,976,861 international pilgrims arrived by air, making up the majority of international arrivals.

By age group, 55-64 year olds accounted for the largest share of overseas pilgrims at 18.9%, while 25-34 year olds accounted for the largest share of domestic pilgrims at 26.6%.

In addition to the Umrah performances in Mecca, 5,722,584 people visited Madinah during the quarter, including 3,846,284 from abroad.
