On the sidelines of the Education and Training Investment Forum, Dr. Fahd bin Ahmed Alharbi, Rector of Imam Abdul Rahman Bin Faisal University, participated in a specialized workshop entitled “Investment Strategy and Governance in Saudi Universities” organized by the University Higher Education Fund, with the participation of an elite group of experts and experts in the field of investment and governance.
The workshop focused on a number of key topics, including the mechanisms governing investments in the higher education sector and the operational and regulatory challenges facing the sector, as well as best investment practices in the Kingdom, and a review of the governance of investment funds and their success criteria.

In addition to considering the financial, economic and social aspects arising from the transformation of the investment system, the participants also discussed the proposed model for the university investment system, the importance of resource pooling and the establishment of a central investment institution, which will contribute to increasing efficiency and achieving sustainability.
The workshop concluded with a wide-ranging discussion on indicators to measure the success of the transformation of the university investment system and its role in supporting universities in ways that enhance financial sustainability and improve the quality of educational and research output, and enable them to make the best use of their resources, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
