Prime Minister Netanyahu attacks Gaza Commission’s use of Palestinian Authority logo

ISTANBUL – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday attacked the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) over its decision to update its logo to match the emblem of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Anadolu Agency reported.

“The logo of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) presented to Israel was completely different from the one unveiled tonight,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.

“Israel does not accept the use of symbols of the Palestinian Authority. The Palestinian Authority has no involvement in the governance of Gaza,” he added.

Although Prime Minister Netanyahu aims for a complete separation of the two institutions and strongly opposes any role for the PA in Gaza, last week he allowed PA representatives to participate in the operational mechanism at the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt.

The National Committee for the Administration of Gaza has not yet commented on Netanyahu’s remarks.

The commission was established as part of efforts to implement the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, along with the Founding Executive Committee and the Gaza Executive Committee that supports the commission.

NCAG is a non-political organization tasked with managing the day-to-day affairs of the civil service. In addition to party leader Ali Shas, it is made up of 11 Palestinian nationals. — Agency
