Oman’s total refinery production increased by 12.5%

According to provisional statistics from the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total production of Oman’s refineries registered a 12.5% ​​increase by the end of December 2025, reaching 84,739,200 barrels compared to the end of December 2024.

According to the ONA report, statistics show that motor fuel production in December 2025 totaled 2,846,000 barrels compared to 2,848,600 barrels in November 2025, a slight decrease of 0.1%.

Specifically, regular motor fuel (M-91) production increased by 19.3% to reach 16,775,600 barrels by the end of December 2025, compared to 14,058,800 barrels for the same period in 2024.

Sales volumes also recorded a 1.1% increase, reaching 14,292,900 barrels compared to 14,140,100 barrels in the same period in 2024, while exports decreased by 10.4% to 2,299,100 barrels by the end of December 2024, compared to 2,566,500 barrels.

In contrast, production of premium motor fuel (M-95) recorded a 20.1 percent increase, reaching 14,891,500 barrels compared to 12,399,000 barrels in the same period in 2024.

Sales volume also increased by 2.4% to 13,589,800 barrels by the end of December 2024 from 13,276,400 barrels, and exports also achieved a 95% increase, reaching 2,035,000 barrels compared to 1,043,400 barrels in the same period last year.

Light oil (diesel) production increased by 12.8% to 34,468,500 barrels by the end of December 2024, compared to 30,553,400 barrels.

Sales volume increased by 7.2% to 15,174,600 barrels compared to 14,150,700 barrels in the same period last year, while exports increased by 10.8% to 18,286,400 barrels by the end of December 2024, compared to 16,504,700 barrels.

Aviation fuel production recorded a decline of 6.6%, reaching 10,873,600 barrels compared to 11,643,700 barrels in the same period in 2024.

Sales volume also decreased by 1.7% to 3,897,700 barrels compared to last year’s 3,963,800 barrels. Exports also fell by 10.8% to 6,768,600 barrels compared to 7,590,300 barrels at the end of December 2024.

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production increased by 16.4% to 7,731,100 barrels compared to 6,642,400 barrels in the same period in 2024.

Sales volume increased by 22.1% to 3,927,900 barrels compared to 3,216,200 barrels in the same period in 2024, and exports increased by 127.4% to 821,200 barrels compared to 361,100 barrels at the end of December 2024.

As for petrochemicals, statistics show that benzene production increased by 7.2% to 171,900 tons compared to 160,300 tons in the same period in 2024.

Paraxylene production increased by 16.6% to record 578,900 tonnes by the end of December 2025, compared to 496,400 tonnes by the end of December 2024.

Polypropylene production recorded the highest growth rate of 81.3 percent, reaching 357,000 metric tons compared to 196,900 metric tons in the same period last year, and its sales increased by 4.4 percent to 31,300 metric tons compared to 30,000 metric tons in the same period in 2024.

In terms of exports, benzene exports increased by 4.5% to 171,100 tonnes by the end of December 2025, compared to 163,800 tonnes at the end of December 2024.

Paraxylene recorded a significant increase of 22.5 percent, reaching 606,200 metric tons compared to 494,700 metric tons in the same period last year, while polypropylene exports achieved a significant increase of 66 percent, reaching 263,600 metric tons, compared to 158,700 metric tons in the same period in 2024.
