In an exceptional literary night where the scent of stories and the sparkle of questions mix, Sabya’s Culture and Arts Club, in collaboration with its literary partner “Mushayf” and Jizan’s House of Culture, organized a large-scale cultural night entitled “The Firebird of the Saudi Novel…Another Chapter from the Ashes of Abd Khar and the Questions”.

The evening witnessed the notable presence of an elite group of media intellectuals and poets from the region and beyond.
The event began, in an atmosphere celebrating Saudi Arabia’s storied achievements, with a warm welcome speech by Ahura Muezzin, who introduced the guests in a highly literary style, the Knight of the Night, the great novelist Abd Muhammad Khar, and his interlocutor, the writer Ali Muhammad Al Amir.
In the conversation, the history and evolution of Saudi fiction was thoroughly reviewed, with novelist Abd Khar reminiscing about his early memories and the influences that shaped his novel experiences that led to international awards. Karl also discussed the role of novels as mirrors of society, touching on the “ashes of doubt” that writing provokes in the face of reality and imagination.

The evening was enriched with qualitative interventions from the audience, where intellectuals raised questions about the future of local narratives and guests engaged with intellectuals in a spirit of transparency and literary openness.
