ABU DHABI – The Integrated Transport Center (ITC), an affiliate of the Abu Dhabi Municipal Transport Authority, has announced the expansion of its ‘robotaxis’ service to new areas across the emirate.
The expansion reflects Abu Dhabi’s continued efforts to strengthen smart mobility networks and advance sustainable transport goals.
This expansion is in line with Abu Dhabi’s vision for smart and autonomous mobility and forms part of a broader strategy to deliver safe and efficient next-generation transport solutions. It aims to increase network efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and improve the quality of life for all members of the community.
Building on its success since launching in 2021 in Yas Island, Al Saadiyat Island, Al Reem Island, Al Maryah Islands and Zayed International Airport, ITC is also expanding its operations to new active and dense areas such as Khalifa City, Masdar City and Rabdan.
A new route linking Abu Dhabi’s Corniche and Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque will also be introduced, offering residents and visitors smarter mobility options and wider access to autonomous services across the emirate. The service is commercially operated by “WeRide” and “Uber” in collaboration with local operator “Tawasul Transport” in accordance with approved permits.
ITC confirmed that its next phase will be to expand its fleet of self-driving vehicles to meet growing demand, support the rapid growth of its services, enhance operational readiness, and improve performance efficiency.
The service noted that it has grown in popularity since its launch and has recorded nearly 150 percent growth in the number of trips in 2025 due to business expansion and growing user trust in the smart technology used in the business. The vehicle also achieved a safety rate of 99.9%.
