“Meteorology”: Today… thunderclouds over highlands in 6 regions – Saudi News

Today (Sunday), rainy cumulonimbus clouds, accompanied by active winds, continue to form and spread over parts of the highlands of Jizan, Asir, Al-Baha and Makkah al-Mukarramah regions, as well as parts of the highlands of the Medina region, which may cause fog in parts of these regions and parts of the eastern region.

According to the meteorological report released today, the surface wind conditions in the Red Sea are northwest to northeast winds of 12-28 km/h in the north and central region, south-southwest winds of 15-40 km/h in the south, reaching 52 km/h towards the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and wave heights of 0.5 meters to 1.5 meters in the north. Sea conditions are light to moderate, reaching 1 to 2 meters in the central and southern parts and 2.5 meters towards the Bab al-Mandab Strait. The northern and central waves and the southern average waves arrive in waves towards the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

Surface winds in the Arabian Gulf are expected to be from southeast to east in the north, and from southeast to southwest in the central and southern regions, with wind speeds of 10 to 28 km/h, wave heights of 0.5 meters to 1 meter, and small sea conditions.

Today (Sunday), the formation of thunderstorm clouds with active winds continues in parts of the highlands of Jizan, Asir, Al-Baha and Makkah regions, extending to parts of the highlands of Madinah region, which may cause fog in parts of these regions and parts of the Eastern Province.

According to a Meteorological Department report released today, the surface wind conditions in the Red Sea are as follows: north-westerly to northeasterly winds of 12-28 km/h in the north and central region, south-southwesterly winds of 15-40 km/h in the south, reaching up to 52 km/h towards the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Wave heights range from 0.5 m to 1.5 m in the north and central region, and 1 m to 2 m in the south, reaching 2.5 m towards the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Sea conditions are light to moderate in the north and center, moderate in the south, and become rougher towards the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

Surface winds in the Arabian Gulf are southeast to east in the north and southeast to southwest in the central and southern regions, with wind speeds ranging from 10 to 28 km/h, wave heights ranging from 0.5 meters to 1 meter, and calm sea conditions.
