Today, Dr. Hala bint Mazayad Al Tuwaijri, Chairman of the Human Rights Commission, and Maryam bint Abdullah Al-Attiyah, Chairman of the Qatar National Human Rights Commission, signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two sides in the field of human rights at the Commission’s headquarters in Riyadh.
This Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen cooperation in human rights matters in accordance with the domestic laws of both countries, build the capacity of workers in relevant fields, exchange experiences, programs and joint projects in the field of human rights research and strive to disseminate them in a way that increases awareness of human rights culture.
In addition to reviewing best experiences and practices in the field of human rights, the Memorandum included visits and exchange of invitations, holding joint seminars, lectures and training programs, and attending meetings and conferences organized by both sides in the areas covered by the Memorandum of Cooperation.
Regarding statistics and information, both sides agreed to exchange reports and scientific studies in the field of promoting and protecting human rights, increasing the level of awareness and education on the rights of persons with disabilities, the rights of children, women’s rights, the rights of the elderly and other rights.
This Memorandum of Understanding takes place within the framework of strengthening areas of cooperation in the field of human rights and exchanging experiences and information, in accordance with applicable regulations and laws.
