Two soldiers killed in military helicopter crash in western South Korea – Saudi News

A military helicopter crashed in South Korea’s western Gyeonggi province, killing two soldiers.

Military authorities said the military helicopter AH-1S Cobra crashed in Gapyeong, about 55 kilometers northeast of the capital Seoul, after taking off for training.

She explained that there was no fire or explosion involved in the accident and that the exact cause of the accident is being investigated.

The accident occurred during flight training aimed at familiarizing the crew with emergency landing procedures.

In March last year, the South Korean military reported that a military drone collided with a parked helicopter at Yangju Air Base north of Seoul, resulting in no casualties.

Military authorities said the AH-1S Cobra military helicopter crashed shortly after taking off for a training exercise in Gapyeong, about 55 kilometers northeast of the capital Seoul.

It said there was no fire or explosion during the incident, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.

The incident occurred during flight training aimed at familiarizing the crew with emergency landing procedures.

In March last year, the South Korean military reported a collision between a military drone and a stationary helicopter at Yangju Air Base north of Seoul, but no one was injured.
