Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy today (Thursday) expressed his country’s desire to achieve a faster result in peace talks with Russia and the United States, saying the negotiations were “not easy.”

“It will certainly not be easy, but Ukraine has been and will continue to be as constructive as possible,” Zelenskiy said at a press conference in Kiev with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, adding: “We hope for a faster result.”

Kirill Budanov, head of President Zelensky’s office, confirmed that the negotiations between representatives of Russia, the United States and Ukraine were constructive.

U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff said the Russian and Ukrainian delegations intend to continue talks to resolve the conflict and expects progress in the coming weeks, explaining that negotiations have been fruitful but will require significant effort.

Ukrainian authorities reported on the ground that six people were killed and others injured in Russian bombings targeting Kherson, Sumy and Dnipro oblasts.

The Ukrainian News Agency (Ukrinform) reported that Russian forces targeted the Drushkivka and Liman regions of Donetsk Oblast, killing eight people and injuring 21 others.

Authorities in Kiev said debris from a Russian military march was shot down by Ukrainian military defenders, injuring two people, but the attack also affected Odessa and Kharkov regions, indicating casualties.

Russian media reported that Russian forces thwarted a Ukrainian counterattack near Kubyansk’s Blagodatovka neighborhood, killing six insurgents and destroying nine Ukrainian ground robotic systems.
