On January 22, iCAUR held a media test drive event for the V27 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Twelve local journalists and KOLs took four V27s to the famous natural landmark Edge of the World. They experienced the classic styling and advanced technology of a boxy SUV on difficult real-world roads.
In the morning, journalists and KOLs gathered in downtown Riyadh. Through product briefings and interactive sessions, guests were able to get an up-close look at V27’s core technology and design philosophy while enjoying a relaxed brunch that introduced iCAUR in detail. The test vehicle convoy then departed the city and drove approximately 200km northwest to the Edge of the World. During the drive, participants praised the V27’s smooth and quiet ride. We also praised the smart infotainment system with a 15.4-inch 3K HD touchscreen and 8155 chip. Voice controls for navigation, climate, and music were also praised.
The test drive’s destination, Edge of the World, is located north of the Tuwaiq Mountains, which stretch for up to 1,000km. A sheer cliff with a drop of approximately 300 meters, it is one of Saudi Arabia’s natural wonders. The approximately two-hour journey takes you through vast plains with few traffic lights and few clear road signs. The desert is full of faint tire tracks and canyons eroded by rain.
This environment maximizes the V27’s power and off-road capabilities. The V27 is iCAUR’s first mass-produced model equipped with Golden REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) and is equipped with a 1.5T engine dedicated to extending cruising range, with a thermal efficiency of 45.79% and can generate 3.71kWh per liter of fuel. This gives the V27 a total range of more than 1,000 km, allowing it to travel long distances in deserts and rugged terrain with limited refueling options. The front and rear dual motors deliver a total of 455 horsepower, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 5 seconds, providing stable and powerful power even on complex roads.
Tuned by the world-class Prodrive racing team and paired with the i-AWD (intelligent all-wheel drive) system, the V27 remains stable even at high speeds. It also provides precise and controlled handling on gravel and uneven surfaces, providing excellent driving sensations for a vehicle that is 5 meters long. This balance between performance and efficiency has been repeatedly emphasized by media and KOLs during events.
The first batch of iCAUR V27 has now been officially shipped to six markets in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar. The Middle East will be the global debut region for the V27, with launches in the UAE and Bahrain in February, followed by Saudi Arabia in March. Prior to the official launch, iCAUR will carry out a series of activities in Saudi Arabia, including mall exhibitions and showroom openings, allowing media and users to see this new energy classic up close. The showroom will also display AiMOGA, a humanoid robot equipped with Chery Group’s latest AI technology. stay tuned!
