PenSpen, a leading international energy consultancy, has been awarded a project management consultant (PMC) services contract by a national oil and gas company for the refurbishment of the Habshan gas compressor factory in the United Arab Emirates.
Under the contract, Penn will deploy a PMC team to support the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) phase of the project.
PennSpen provides independent oversight and control over EPC contractors to ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and in full compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
The Penn team will be responsible for key functions including project management and control, health, safety and environment (HSE), planning and scheduling, quality assurance, commissioning and start-up support.

New facilities planned for the EPC phase include: Two additional API 617 centrifugal sales gas compressors. Two pre-filters. Five trains of H₂S scrubbers. Two post filters. Two suction knockout drums. Two air-cooled discharge heat exchangers and other compressor auxiliary equipment.
Pencepen’s extensive experience in gas compression facilities and large-scale gas pipeline projects in the UAE and internationally will provide significant value throughout the EPC phase of this strategically important energy project.
