Egyptian artist Amr Saad has announced that he will retire from directing television dramas, stressing that the series “Efrai” to be shown next Ramadan will be his last theatrical work.

“I have worked hard every day to be able to leave the world of television next year from the ‘Efrai’ series. I feel that I have done the job that Egypt deserves,” Amr said in a post on his personal Facebook account. He added: “We hope that you will enjoy it and that we are proud of this series, which represents Egyptian drama in all Arab countries and is worthy of our country’s great history, which gave the Arab people not great lies but great stars.”
