Saudi Arabia’s personal consumption increases by 11%… reaching 1,569.9 billion riyals – Saudi News

Personal consumption in Saudi Arabia increased by 11% to SR1,569.9 billion in 2025, compared to approximately SR1,418.4 billion in 2024, according to data from the Saudi Arabian Central Bank (SAMA).

According to the data, in-store sales in Saudi Arabia in 2025 increased by 6% compared to 2024, reaching approximately 707.2 billion riyals.

According to the data, sales in the past year were generated through 11.5 billion transactions and 2.3 million devices.

POS transactions represent amounts spent by consumers via debit or credit cards at large shopping malls, retail stores, pharmacies, etc.

Cash withdrawals from ATMs in 2025 decreased by approximately 3% compared to withdrawals in 2024, reaching approximately 537.5 billion riyals.

These cash withdrawals were made through 1.43 billion transactions through 15,000 automated teller machines (ATMs) of operating banks and the Saudi network, and the number of bank cards issued reached 63.6 million.

E-commerce sales through Madacard will increase to 325.2 billion riyals in 2025, an increase of 65% compared to 2024, marking the highest level ever.

According to SAMA data, these sales took place through 1.77 billion transactions.

E-commerce sales include Mada Card transactions used for payments and purchases on shopping sites and electronic applications. Transactions made via Visa, MasterCard, and other credit cards are not included.

Saudi Arabia’s consumer spending includes total cash withdrawals, POS sales and e-commerce sales through ‘Mada’.

According to data from the Saudi central bank “SAMA”, personal consumption in Saudi Arabia in 2025 will be 1.5699 trillion riyals, an 11% increase compared to 2024’s approximately 1.4184 trillion riyals.

According to the data, sales through POS terminals in Saudi Arabia increased by 6% in 2025, reaching approximately 707.2 billion riyals compared to 2024.
