The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced the launch of 11 competing mines at the Al Suman Crusher Complex in Eastern Province, in addition to the development of local communities adjacent to mining projects, as part of efforts to stimulate mining investment and strengthen adherence to the highest standards of governance and transparency in the mining sector.
Jarrah Al Jarrah, official spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, explained that the mines submitted to the competition are designated for gravel and crusher materials and cover an area of 9 square kilometers, noting that the application acceptance period will be extended from February 15 to March 5, 2026 through the digital “Mining” platform, and that the stages of the competition will include registration for the competition, qualification of competitors and subsequent launch. Following the bidding process, there is a stage to announce the bidding results and winning companies.
By allocating mining complexes, the Ministry aims to promote investment in the mining sector, strengthen governance standards and protect mining sites from illegal encroachment, in addition to the development of areas adjacent to the sites of mining activities.
