The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Invocation and Guidance, represented by the Mosque Facilities and Services Protection Department of the Ministry’s Mosques Agency, monitored 774 incidents of violations of electricity and water services of mosques in many regions of the Kingdom during 2025 AD, as part of regular monitoring reports aimed at protecting the facilities of the House of God and ensuring the sustainability of its services.
The administration said in its report that the number of violations included 577 violations related to electricity services and 197 violations related to water services, of which 742 have been resolved, 569 in electricity, 173 in water, and 32 still pending litigation. She noted that these violations consist of using the mosque’s electricity and water sources for purposes other than their intended purpose, putting a strain on operational facilities and affecting the efficiency of services provided to worshipers.
The Ministry confirmed the continuation of monitoring and follow-up field visits through the Ministry’s regional offices in different regions of the Kingdom, and cooperated with relevant authorities to take legal action against violators, stressing the importance of maintaining mosque facilities and complying with approved regulations and instructions.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Outreach and Guidance called on the public and residents to cooperate with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and report any observations or violations of mosque services or property, either through the Unified Contact Center (1933) or by checking local Islamic Ministry offices, and emphasized the importance of the role of local communities in achieving the ministry’s mission and in the management and maintenance of mosques and facilities.
